Service Description

As one of the most prestigious writing competitions, YoungArts Writing Competition offers a platform for young writers to showcase their talents across various literary forms. It opens to rising 10th graders and older for US citizens and PRs. 📅 Key Dates Application Opens: July 2025 Application Deadline: Mid October 2025, at 8:00 PM ET Winners Announced: November 2025 🏆 Awards & Opportunities Cash Awards: Winners receive monetary awards ranging from $250 to $10,000. National YoungArts Week: Winners with distinction are invited to an all-expenses-paid intensive program in Miami, featuring workshops and performances. Further Recognition: High school seniors selected as winners with distinction may be nominated for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts. ​ About the instructor: Dr. Anderson graduated from Yale and has assisted students from all over the world to get into top colleges and boarding schools. He leads seminars in contest writing, including the NY Times Summer Reading Contest, Review Contest, STEM Contest, and Editorial Contest. Nine of his workshop participants were selected as Runners Up or received Honorable Mentions; one of his students won the contest in 2020 (Top 1 out of thousands of submissions). He also teaches for the Scholastics Writing contest. In 2021, half of all of his students received an Honorable Mention, Silver Key, or Gold Key award—an unrivaled proportion of winners compared to other writing teachers. In 2025, 60% of submissions from his class have won a Silver Key and an Honorable Mention. Dr. Anderson graduated from Yale University and Cambridge University. He has a Ph.D. degree from UC Berkeley. Session: 7/24 - 8/21 Days: Thurdays Time: 8-9:30 EDT | 5-6:30 PDT 90 minutes per session

If there are less than four students enrolled for a class, Boluo School reserves the right to cancel the class. Boluo School strives to provide the best quality service for each student. If a course does not meet your expectations, Boluo School will refund the remaining tuition before the second class. However, notice must be given within the first week of starting a course.
